As water resources become increasingly limited, privatization of water has emerged as an important issue for both the developing and developed worlds . Corporate interests have capitalized on concerns about the potability of tap and ground water. Marketing and deception have contributed to the fetishization of the water bottle, leading to the exploding consumption of non-biodegradable plastic.

The water fountain has been constructed to encourage an examination of the growth in dependence on bottled water. Our goal is to create a dialog about the issues of water privatization and consumption.
