unknown race - installation view Unknown Race  is a projection and sound installation commissioned by the London arts community organization, Panchayat. Organized by Shaheen Merali, Extreme Unction, was one of the first London exhibition to address issues of HIV and AIDS and its affect on Asian communities
The installation utilized scans of particular AIDS viruses (biopsies, lesions, and sores)
that were mapped onto "real" body images to suggest the imminent and invadatory aspect of the AIDS disease.
